Just two geeks with a dream...
We are a Comic Shop, but we are striving to be so much more than that. We want to provide an HQ, a haven.. a home, for anyone who is a little (or a lot) geeky! Stemming from not having places like this as young kids or even throughout adulthood, we felt we could create something truly special.
We are trying to build a community around our shop and it has not only begun, but it is growing fast. We hope to do as much good as possible with our evergrowing "Geek Army".
Q: Are you a comic shop or a coffee shop?
A: We are both, and so much more! We also have a retro video gaming room and a seating area to drink, read and socialise.
Q: Can I subscribe to comic books?
A: Absolutely. We have a ‘pull list’ subscription service where we can fulfil most requests you have no matter how obscure. Look for the link on our website.
Q: Are you dog friendly?
A: We are indeed. Four legged friends are welcome at The Comic Shop as long as they are trained and sociable.
Q: Is it just comic books you sell?
A: No, we have a varied range of graphic novels, collectible merchandise, Magic The Gathering Cards, Funko Pop’s and more.
Q: Do you sell coffee to take-out?
A: Yes, we have biodegradable cups and lids for you to enjoy our very own coffee brand, Geek Fuel.
Q: Is it just Magic The Gathering Cards you sell?
A: No, we also stock Yu-Gi-Oh cards and are looking to get Final Fantasy and Transformers card games also.
Q: Do you host Magic The Gathering evenings?
A: We do, we currently run casual play and Pauper League every Tuesday and Thursday.
Q: Do you have any plans to host any other TCGs (trading card games)?
A: Yes, we have just started Dungeons and Dragons evenings and have plans for others in the future. In the meantime we encourage any groups who would like to play to come to the store and do so.
Q: What evenings are you open late?
A: We currently open late (latest 22:30) Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However we have plans to open late most evenings during the summer months.
An aging geek who got tired of hiding his passion, I decided that a call to action was needed to bring that passion to Crawley.
Along the way I met a crazy fool who also wanted to deliver that same level of geekery, and together we created The Comic Shop!!
Part time genius, part time idiot. I just want a better world, I'm also a dreamer so I believe that anything is possible.
I worked at Gatwick Airport for most of my life and decided to take a leap of faith into trying to create something awesome, luckily I had a good friend who had that same vision and that was how this idea unfolded.
