Hello and welcome to the blog with Crawley Gaming Community. For those of you that are new, please check out our "Who, What, Where and When!" post to find out more information on who we are and what we do.

This week sees us bringing you more of the selection of games at The Comic Shop in the form of pocket games. Below are 5 games to check out and available to purchase at, you guessed it, The Comic Shop!

Also this week, we see what the community got up to at last week's Board Game Night, local Events that are on this week, a special shout out to both community organisers, an urgent announcement and some podcast tidbits. Let's have a look at some games to line our pockets and stockings with!

Games at The Comic Shop

Pocket Madness

As followers of the ancient myths, guided by dark and promising rumors, you survey the most disturbing locations. Each more unsettling than the last, in search of clues. Scattering enough of them will allow you to open portals to see these obscure worlds…unless you would prefer to publish your research, plunging your opponents into madness.

You must be careful though because you are meddling with powers that are beyond you, and it could be you who is first to fall, once and for all into madness. Maintain your sanity longer than your opponents, because the least crazy cultist wins the game.

Big Dig

Deep beneath the surface of the Earth lie gems, artefacts and other valuable things. As an intrepid treasure hunter, you'll no doubt be interested in freeing them from their rocky prison. Take turns drafting digging cards or exploding single spaces on your board as you plot your course down below. The player who does it most efficiently wins!

Kittens in a Blender

Sure, kittens are curious by nature, but when these adorable kittens play in a kitchen full of dangerous appliances, it is up to you to save them! This fast-paced card game has players working to save all of their kittens before the unthinkable happens!

Rolling Ranch

It's 5 a.m., you wake up like you do every day and get ready to get out of bed...wait, the sun is already rising? The clock shows 8 am! What happened to the rooster?

You leave your house to check, but as soon as you step outside, you have it figured out. A hurricane destroyed all the fences in the area and the animals fled! However, they should not be that far and after fixing the fences it's your mission to recover them in the woods! Can you find them all?

Ramen Fury

Rush to prepare and slurp up delicious bowls of ramen filled with tasty ingredients. Collect combos of cards to score for different recipes while adding garnishes to boost your points. At the same time, watch out as other players throw spicy chilli peppers your way or swipe foods right from your bowls! It's lively "take-that" fun that will have you reaching for Deliveroo!

Last week's Board Game Night at The Comic Shop

Great turn out last week, lots of games played and great to see new faces as well as returning community members too. Games played last week were Tetris Link - 3D puzzle played by Dylan and his Mum. Magic the Gathering card game played between Jordan and James. Kakerlaken Salut played between Layla, Dylan and Dave. TMNT the board game played by Kyrie, Ian and Andy. Tidal Blades heroes of the reef played by Paul and two of his family members. Echidna Shuffle by Layla, Jason, Dylan and Dylan's Mum. Rollecate by Jason, Dylan and his Mum. Cobra Paw played by Jordan and James and Everdell was broken out by Aaron to play with one of his friends.

Thank you to all that attended, we and The Comic Shop appreciate the support and will hopefully see you all next time for more games, fun and laughter.

Shout out to Ian and Jason

As a belated birthday gift, Ian and his Mum made Jason a wonderful Star Wars related cake to devour! Thank you to Ian and his Mum for making the cake and to everyone who helped beat it up! By the end of the evening, the high ground was taken and the cake was defeated!
